Castle “Nova kraljevica – Frankopan”
It is part of the cultural-tourist route “Putovima Frankopana”, designed by the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, which implemented the project. The route consists of 20 estates, 17 castles and 3 sacred buildings, telling us the history of the princes of Krk, as they were called Frankopans until the 15th century.

It was built in the middle of the 17th century as a late Renaissance, richly furnished residential palace with a rectangular floor plan and four corner towers. After the arrest of its builders, Count Petar Zrinski and Prince Fran Krst Frankopan, the castle was devastated and served various functions. It flourished again at the end of the 19th century, with the arrival of the Jesuits, who built on the second floor and decorated the towers with parapets. After many war destruction and inappropriate contents, today it is being restored as a multi functional cultural center.

Monument of st. Nicholas

It is the work of academic sculptor Josip Diminić and was placed in a temporary location on St. Nicholas, December 12, 2008, until the construction of the new city square, when it will receive its final location. St. Nicholas is the patron saint of the city and on his day, a traditional pilgrimage of sailors with a solemn holy mass is organized.
